10 things to do when in Chablis

10 things to do when in Chablis

1 – Walk or drive up the Chablis Grand Cru hill to catch a beautiful panorama.
2 – While up there realise that you can’t really see the Chablis Grand Cru area and so walk or drive pass the Serein river heading to the Chablis Premier Montmains or Vaillons hills to catch a glimpse at the Grand Crus.
3 – Buy and taste an “Andouillette de Chablis” and maybe move on to “Jambon Persillé” (ham and parsley) should tripe sausage not be your thing.
4 – Simply take a stroll and see where your step will lead you (don’t worry you can’t really get lost with 2302 inhabitants)
5 – Plan your visit ahead and include a Sunday so you can experience the Chablis market.
6 – Book a room at “La Maison du Moulin des Roches” and enjoy a peaceful moment in walking distance of the Chablis town center (and you know how walking can be important when in Chablis if you want to fully enjoy restaurants and tastings).
7 – Walk to the “Petit Pontigny” and check out the 12th century grape press.
8 – Stop at bakers’ Degand and butchers’ Porte to get everything you need for a Chablis picnic.
9 – Guess where you can find wine (hint: Starts with a “S” and ends with “Chablis”)
10 – Take your time and enjoy every single sip of Chablis.
